Below is the script to make you easier to shutting down your Oracle10g database on Linux. Create a file, for example : dbstop.sh and then fill the content of file like this :

#
lsnrctl stop
sleep 2
sqlplus "/ as sysdba" << EOF
shutdown immediate
exit
EOF
emctl stop dbconsole
